Are you passionate about creating opportunities for underrepresented individuals to thrive in the tech, creative and science industries? Do you have a knack for building bridges between businesses, job seekers, and training providers? If so, we have the perfect role for you!

About Us:

The LIFT programme operates across Islington, Camden, Hackney, and Tower Hamlets. Our mission is clear: to empower local residents from diverse backgrounds to gain the skills, secure employment, and establish businesses in the thriving knowledge economy. From digital innovation to life sciences and creative ventures, we're dedicated to fostering inclusivity and driving meaningful change. Launched in 2021, LIFT has supported over 370 local people into paid employment, helped over 200 startups to launch and grow their businesses, and has recently been shortlisted for the prestigious LGC Awards.

You'll be at the forefront of brokering job, apprenticeship, and internship opportunities with businesses ranging from global giants to microbusinesses in key sectors such as tech, life sciences, and creative industries. Your efforts will directly contribute to upskilling disadvantaged residents, paving their way to success in the knowledge economy.

Requirements:

Working for the team, service and our organisation

Islington is a place rich with diversity and culture. As a council our sense of purpose couldn’t be clearer: we serve. It’s in the logo. We are committed to challenging inequality in the borough and as one of the largest employers we know that to look after the place and the planet, we have to look after our people. Together we can change the future.

We are determined to create a more equal Islington, where everyone who lives here has an equal chance to thrive.

To do this, everyone who works at Islington Council lives by a set of values which guide us in everything that we do: collaborative, ambitious, resourceful, and empowering. They spell out ‘CARE’, which is what we think public service is all about.

Watch our video to hear more about our mission and how you can help us achieve it from the Leader of the Council, Cllr Kaya Comer-Schwartz.
