About The Role

SENDCo

 Required for September 2026

Permanent Contract – 0.6 (3 days)

Salary Grade Range: MPS/UPS + SENDCo allowance

Robert Blair School is a one form entry primary school with Under 3’s provision situated close to Caledonian Road in Islington.

In September 2025, Robert Blair formed a federation with Hargrave Park School in Archway. Both are small maintained community schools, committed to working together to ensure high quality, inclusive provision for our children.

We are seeking to appoint a committed and exceptional SENDCo.

You will work closely with the Head of School, Pastoral Care Manager and leaders at all levels to support a provision where belonging, thriving and achieving are secured through a positive, inclusive culture.

You will have strong leadership skills, directing a small team of LSA’s in our internally resourced provision. You will have a deep understanding of strategies and approaches to tailor provision for individuals and small groups to ensure their success in small steps of progress. You will advise and support across the school as our lead SEND expert so that staff are able to provide rich ordinarily available provision (OAP) for all children in their class.

The position is non-class based.

Visits to the school are strongly encouraged

Please contact our School Business Manager, Cyrilene Malcolm, to arrange a school tour with the Head of School, Sara Liney.

Closing Date for application: Thursday 14th May

Interviews: Wednesday 20th May

Robert Blair School is committed to safeguarding the welfare of young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to DBS checks and excellent references. In line with KCSIE 2025 and safer recruitment practices, the school will conduct an online search for all shortlisted candidates. The online search is part of our safeguarding checks and will seek publicly available information on candidates’ suitability to work with children. Shortlisted candidates will be provided with further guidance and will be asked to clarify their online presence.
