Child and Family Support Worker Ambler Primary School

Contract:  21 hours term-time, fixed term maternity cover until July 2025 
Salary Grade:    Scale 6
Actual Salary: £18,084 - £18,982
Required for: September 2024

Are you passionate about making a difference to the lives and life-chances of children? If so, the role of Child and Family Support Worker at Ambler Primary School could be perfect for you. This role is advertised as fixed term maternity cover, three days per week, from September 2024.

You must be passionate about supporting children and families, and contribute to our vision to ensure every child achieves their full potential in a safe, supportive environment. The successful candidate will help to improve children's outcomes and opportunities by working with and building relationships with families, children, school staff, external agencies and the wider community.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:

  • Work with the inclusion team, children and families to overcome barriers to learning
  • Support improved attendance and punctuality
  • Deliver a range of family learning
  • Provide support and guidance for parents and carers
  • Signpost parents/carers to the support they need
  • Work with pupils to improve self-esteem and build confidence and resilience.
We are looking for someone who has:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working and engaging with parents, carers and children through individual and/or group-based support
  • The ability to act as advocate, mediator and negotiator for our parents and carers in a range of situations
  • An understanding of how to promote good school attendance and punctuality and how to tackle poor attendance, including persistent absence or suspension.
