You’ll play an instrumental role in supporting Islington’s impressive fleet of 500 vehicles, from compact cars to large lorries, each vehicle representing a vital part of our borough’s infrastructure. Main duties of the job
Overseeing the council’s in-house workshop service, you’ll ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of Islington’s extensive council fleet. The ideal candidate will not only possess a formal qualification in vehicle repair but will also bring a wealth of experience in managing a diverse fleet. Your knowledge won’t be limited to traditional vehicles; you’ll be familiar with the latest in electric vehicle technology, staying ahead of the curve in this rapidly evolving field.
Your role will extend beyond the details of vehicle maintenance as you’ll be leading a large team of dedicated workshop staff, coordinating across various shifts to ensure round-the-clock service. Your leadership will inspire your team to strive for excellence and foster a spirit of teamwork and mutual respect.

This team is responsible for managing Islington’s impressive fleet of 500 vehicles, including all o-license vehicles, where each vehicle represents a commitment to our community and a promise of reliable service.
