If you are a Mechanical Inspector with drive and ambition this may be an opportunity for you.

The opportunity is for a Mechanical Inspector to join our Building Services team who undertake a variety of repair and maintenance works across the London Borough of Islington.

You will be responsible  to ensure excellent  quality control process  are  in place and that high standards of work are carried out in compliance with  contract documentation. You will be required to maintain detailed inspection records for audit purposes on a variety of social housing projects including but not limited to communal heating repair and maintenance works, major works on communal heating plant and other mechanical projects within the London Borough of Islington. 

The successful candidate will ideally have a proven track record undertaking a Mechanical Inspecting role on communal heating projects and will have the ability to ensure the highest possible standards in Mechanical engineering are maintained. You will manage and coordinate your own workload with minimal supervision. You will have an understanding of procurement and contract administration processes and have the ability to maintain clear electronic records of project outcomes.

The successful candidate will have good technical knowledge of mechanical engineering and have the ability to overcome challenges which may arise to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard. You will join a team of hard working professionals focused on maintaining excellent levels of customer care and will be a part of an organization which you will be proud to work for.

You will contribute  to  the development and delivery  of the forward  five year asset management plan and capital improvement programme for mechanical works to ensure  mechanical services  are  maintained to a good  standard  and are fully compliant with the latest statutory regulations and codes of practice .

You will be expected to be familiar with the requirements of all statutory Health and Safety policies and procedures and the latest CDM Regulations to effectively carry out the role.

A DBS ‘Disclosure and Barring Service’ check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) will be required for this role.

* Please note your salary will comprise of a basic annually salary of between £30,012 - £34,653 p.a. and an additional market supplement of £10,000 which will be paid in monthly instalments on top of your basic salary.
