Energy and Policy Advice Manager

Islington Council has a national and international reputation as a leader in both its ambition and track record on delivering energy efficiency and decentralised energy generation projects to tackle fuel poverty, energy resilience and CO2 emissions. The range, scale and scope of our projects are unrivalled. We are looking for a creative, passionate, committed individual to lead on Energy Advise and policy initiatives to build on our nationally-renowned work on fuel poverty and reducing winter deaths and hospital admissions. Our flagship project, the Seasonal Health Interventions Network (SHINE), is the largest single point referral service of its kind, with over 20,000 households assisted since 2010.

We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic Manager with experience delivering energy advise and policy for the community to join an effective and high-profile team. You will help to lead on the delivery of not only the SHINE project but also a range of other pioneering work streams such as our Warmth on Prescription project, ECO Flex, smart and community energy programmes.

You will have a strong understanding of national policy affecting fuel poverty and domestic energy efficiency and the ability to respond to consultations on these policy areas. As well as a proven track record delivering policy and fuel poverty projects. Experience of managing relationships with Programme funders and managing a team day to day is essential.

This post is full-time for 35 hours per week and based at Islington offices in Cottage Road.
