Team Manager – Islington Families Intensive Team (IFIT)

Islington Council offers a breadth of services to young people and families with multiple levels of need. Islington Families Intensive Team (IFIT) offers early intervention to families who have been identified as being at risk of becoming looked after, going into custody, engaging in ASB/offending and not being involved in education/training. This involves looking at a variety of psychological and social needs for both adults and children in the family. IFIT aims to help these families by using a whole family approach in regard to assessment and intervention and has clinical input from both CAMHS and adult mental health services. Parenting intervention is a key component of the intervention. IFIT also has embedded support from Education and Employment Services.

We are looking to appoint a new Team Manager to have operational oversight of the team. The Team Manager will be responsible for driving the effective delivery of an intensive outreach support service in line with both national and local priorities. The Team manager will also work closely with the Clinical Lead to ensure that the clinical model of IFIT is embedded in practice to drive and sustain change for the families supported by the service.

Managing the work of the team, you will drive their performance in supporting families with multiple needs and provide effective leadership to ensure evidence based interventions are delivered in a timely manner and risk is managed effectively.

Your communication skills will assist you in establishing strong partnership working across early help and in linking with specialist and universal services to ensure a seamless service to families.

You will be required to work flexibly, independently and responsively within a changing environment. You need excellent communication skills, both oral and in writing, and IT competency is essential.
