Islington Youth Offending Service (YOS) supervises and supports young people subject to statutory orders who often present with a range of complex needs and vulnerabilities. The service has seen substantial improvement in the last year and this role will be pivotal to contributing to this onward trajectory.

The YOS Team Manager is responsible for the direct line management of staff, including deputy team managers and specialists (e.g. reparation and referral order coordinator). The post holder will have specific lead areas including restorative justice and require some strategic oversight and management of performance. Driving improvement through empowering staff and ensuring quality standards are met will be a core component of the role.

Strong partnership working, excellent communication skills, application and knowledge of the safeguarding and YOS legislation will be critical to the role.

Previous line management experience and a strong background in assessing and managing risk, as well as being able to work independently and as part of a team will be pivotal to the role.
