Helping families to keep in touch and making contact right for every child.

An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen in Islington Children Services to be involved in contact arrangements for children who are permanently placed away from their birth families.

You will co-ordinate the delivery of indirect (letterbox) and direct (face to face) contact for children who are adopted or subject to Special Guardianship Orders. You will also offer advice and guidance to social workers in planning for contact, and be involved in some direct work with families too

We are looking for a dynamic, empathetic and skilled individual with a good knowledge of the on-going, day to day impact of trauma and abuse on children.

Islington Children Services are committed to a trauma related approach in working with children and families. You will receive ongoing supervision and training in relation to this.

This is a permanent post of 17 ½ hours per week and you will be based at 3 Elwood St. Islington.
