Education Outreach Worker

Islington Council has worked hard to establish a shared vision across agencies for the delivery of services to young people and their families.

The council are recruiting to the post of Education Outreach Worker in the AMASS (Adolescent Multi-Agency Specialist Service) team. The team are a small multi-agency team based in Children’s Social Care who co-work with social workers to provide intensive support to families where an adolescent is deemed to be on the edge of care or where support is needed to facilitated a young person returning home from a care placement.

The Education Outreach Worker will work collaboratively with AMASS team members, social workers and schools to provide support to a small caseload of young people and families with multiple and complex needs. The post-holder will be responsible for improving education outcomes through the delivery of targeted interventions, including assertive outreach work with adolescents and parents in home, community and school settings, as well as through working with schools to ensure that each young person has access to an educational experience that meets their needs.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in an educational setting with adolescents with emotional, social and behavioural needs and/or have Qualified Teacher Status. They will also be able to work flexibly, independently and responsively within a changing environment.
